We’ve all been patiently waiting for God of War 3 for a long enough time and it won’t be much longer before we can finally take our revenge on Olympus! Being the last game I ever played on the PS2, this game held a special place in my heart as the game which closed out a long and enjoyable history with the PS2. God of War 3 promises to close out the series with a bang only capable on the superior graphics of the PS3. Here are some facts about the game;

* ONLY ON THE PS3 SYSTEM- The award-winning development team leverages the processing power and technology of PLAYSTATION 3 system to make God of War III one of the most-graphically advanced next gen titles available, with even the dramatic cut screens running off the in-game engine.
* GROUNDBREAKING DEPTH OF SCALE – Kratos will explore areas up to 4 times larger than those found in God of War II, as well as carve through entire armies while navigating on the back of Titans – living, moving, breathing levels as tall as the Empire State Building.
* STYLIZED REALISM – Players will battle in detailed and unique 3D worlds lit by thousands of dynamic lights and textures with quadruple the resolution, which allows for realistic muscle striations, detailed facial expressions, and new heightened levels of brutality and gore.
* SIGNATURE GAMEPLAY – Brutal combat, intricate puzzles, exploration of awe-inspiring worlds, and a compelling and satisfying ending to Kratos’ epic story.
* SOPHISTICATED STORYLINE – The God of War III storyline is the epic conclusion to the trilogy; the storyline will be told in a way that is true to traditionalist roots in Greek mythology, from moral consequences to brutal battles against the Gods.
* RIDEABLE CREATURES – Several of the menacing creatures of Greek mythology in God of War III can now be manipulated against their will, as Kratos uses them to cross chasms, inflict blind rage against enemies, reveal puzzles and secrets, and as tools of complete annihilation.
* NEW WEAPONS AND COMBAT SYSTEM- New deadly weapons such as the Cestus — powerful metal gauntlets with devastating strength — and other brutal instruments of war that will allow Kratos to learn ruthless new techniques such as grappling with enemies and launching explosive wall-to-ground attacks.
* LIGHTING TECHNOLOGIES – The dynamic lighting solution employed in GOW III is only feasible through the computing power provided by the Cell SPUs. For example, using the High Dynamic Range Lighting (HDRL) technology, the camera – when using Krato’s sightline – will emulate the human retina, causing players to feel a sharp brightness when Kratos exits a dark area and enters a sunlit area, similar to how the human eye would need to adjust.

God of War 3 is gonna be EPIC! Sorry, a little bit of fan-boy tendencies. God of War 3 is due out for release in March of 2010 and the wait will finally be over.

The PS3 has been lagging behind its other console competitors ever since its launch. Even in its homeland of Japan, the PS3 lagged behind the Xbox 360 in sales. People have blamed various issues on this slump in sales but we can all agree it has something to do with the PS3′s price. The good news is it looks like the Japanese are finally starting to realize the value inherent in this system. Japan’s PS3 sales have jumped 100% in the course of a week recently and many attribute it to the release of Pro Evolution Soccer 2009 for the PS3.

Playstation 3 owners took a big sigh of relief when Blu-ray won the format war. The investment was worth it guys (ever a doubt in your mind? honestly…) and now PS3 owners can jump for joy knowing that they had invested in what CNN Money has decided was the best Blu-Ray player for the money! Aside from the awesome selection of games that other Blu-Ray players could not play, the PS3 was also noted for its fast load times and ability to upgrade to profile 2.0 as well as excellent picture quality. The report only had one negative to say and that was the lack of an IR sensor for a remote. All in all, good job PS3 owners for picking out the right console!

About 2 years ago, the PS3 was released to long lines of loyal Sony fans. A personal friend of mine quit his job at Best Buy in order to secure a place in line to purchase the console. Of course with such hotly anticipated titles, there were numerous stories of bizarre behavior.

There were others who would buy the console and flip it for a profit on Ebay and Craigslist. The first person in line near one of the stores in my area managed to sell his unit for two grand in cash in the parking lot. It has been a long 2 years since then and the PS3′s line-up of videogames and support have grown much stronger. Resistance 2 has already been released to favorable critics and the PS3 is now a bigger force than ever in the video game industry.

The PSP to date has sold about 40 million units. The PS3 on the other hand, at 17 million units, lags behind its other console competitors such as the Xbox 360 and the Wii. Sony has been trying to boost its sales through a variety of factors (that don’t include a price drop). In my opinion, Sony needs to hurry up and implement the feature that will allow PSP users to play games on their PS3 on the go if they want to boost their sales. After all, it has the potential to turn a big chunk of their PSP base into PS3 owners as well. Sony can learn a thing or two from Apple with regards to hardware interconnectivity.

China’s continuing trend of Intellectual Property plagiarism has finally hit home with the Polystation 3. This “PS3″ features aesthetics of a well-known Sony product. I can’t figure out if this is all a huge joke on China’s behalf or a genuine attempt to fool oblivious consumers. If there are any kids reading this, now you know to make it very clear what PS3 when telling your parents you want one. This seems like a great gag friend for a buddy but I’ve scoured the internet and been unable to find a single Polystation 3 for sale (Best Buy doesn’t seem to carry one either…). You can watch the review by Ashens below. I wonder if it comes with Blu-ray like the real PS3? BTW, if anybody knows where to get one please say so! We are dying to get our hands on one…

The its hard for non-players to imagine picking up plastic instruments and pretending to play famous songs from decades past by some of history’s greatest bands. But Jason Hill sums up the appeal of Guitar Hero perfectly.

“The genius of the Guitar Hero games has been in providing the illusion that you are playing an instrument, that you are a rock god playing in front of an adoring crowd.

It’s a fantasy that many of us have dreamed of but few are realistically capable of achieving, despite the (seemingly inevitable) sneering from some musicians that players should try picking up a real instrument instead of a plastic one.

Fortunately, many musicians do appreciate that music games can have a role in introducing new audiences to their music, and Guitar Hero World Tour’s incredibly comprehensive Music Studio tool will undoubtedly help convert many others.

The tools are similar in scope to hobbyist recording and mixing packages like Apple’s Garage Band or Cubase, and allow musicians to record and share their own songs or cover-versions of classics online with others.

Of course, not every World Tour owner will have the skills, time or patience to record their own tracks, but every World Tour owner will surely benefit from the depth of the package as they will almost surely have a bountiful assortment of free songs to download once professionals and hobbyists alike start to get their hands on the game.”
