The newly Blu-ray backed 80GB Playstation 3 hit the top ten in sales at Amazon two days after its first release. Within a few days of its release, the new PS3 bundle witnessed a 40% increase in sales. Sony is selling the new blu-ray backed 80GB PS3 at $399.99. What is special about this new model is that it has a built-in blu-ray hard drive in order to save high-definition movies. In addition to the blu-ray hard drive, the bundle also includes the new Dualshock 3 controller. With the blu-ray becoming more popular in the United States, the Playstation 3 seems to be a viable option for blu-ray players. According to reports last week, the PS3 is outselling standalone blu-ray players. With this new bundle, we can easily expect sales to increase or at least remain steady. Only time can tell.
