News from the floors of the Leipzig Games Convention never ceases to amaze me. Sony has just announced the first of the brand new Playstation Eye games, which utilizes the camara to put an interactive pet in your living room. The first game is called EyePet. Check out the trailer.

From the trailer, it looks amazing. The camara captures an image and displays it on the screen, but with an interactive monkey on a coffee table in front of the gamers. When the gamer places themselves and their hands in certain areas, the gamer will be able to interact with the virtual monkey. In addition to “playing” with the monkey, one will be able to draw toys for the pet (which will turn into 3D), change the look of the pet, and have the pet interact (somewhat) with real life objects. As of now, the release date is set at late 2009. With the emergance of faster and more accurate processors, this game will certain cause hysteria upon its release.
