The Wii’s days may be limited with the approaching release of the Gametrak Freedom. The Gametrak Freedom is essentially a cross-platform Wii remote. Soon, PS3 and 360 users will also join their Wii counterparts in jumping and swinging and throwing at their screens. According to their website, the Gametrak freedom will use patented ultrasonic and RF technologies as well as 3-axis accelerometers to determine itsĀ precise physical location and orientation. This will give gamers a wide range of motions that the controller can pick up on and distinguish between. The unit will connect to the console via USB and will include 2 sensors which can be mounted on the TV or the stands which also come included. Expect the Freedom to launch with a “wide range of games for next-generation platforms”.
