Turntable DJ Hero Skin

DJ Hero has been one of my passions on the PS3. I guess I’m not much of a DJ in real life but in the gaming world I do pretty well. Still, I’ve always wanted to put a little more personality into my set and now I am able to thanks to the DJ Hero Skins. I admit that playing the game is in no way indicative of true to life skills just like playing Guitar Hero will not make me a more talented guitarist. What can I say, I love playing these games because they combine my love of music with my love of gaming!

I’ve noticed that with prolonged usage however, my DJ Hero turntable has begun to look faded and the edges often end up getting chipped (mostly from me messing up). I did purchase a set of DJ Hero Skins for my gear recently after going on a decal buying craze though and I have to say, they do look pretty cool. Aside from just looking cool however, they also serve a secondary purpose in that they keep my gear fresh. Sure the decals fade but when they do, I can just take it off and apply a new one. There is so much to choose from and they are so cheap to buy online that I can buy several different sets and even give them to friends as gifts!

Now all my PS3 gear is fitted with these decals but I am most proud of the turntable since it really shines above the others. These DJ Hero Skins are made from high quality materials and paint so they look great while also protecting against wear from most common use. I don’t really know what kind of freaky things you like to do with the turntable so don’t just take my word for it! I only use it to play games!

Official as of a few hours ago – Sony has confirmed the PS3 Slim is real and is due to hit shelves early September, at the Gamecom event in Germany. The new Slim – consuming %34 percent less power and taking up %32 percent less space. So nothing as far as new features or capabilities – just smaller, lighter, and less power consuming. Existing PS3s will get their prices dropped in anticipation for the new Slim PS3. Read on for more pics…

Yes this is a real concept from Sony. The point of it is still baffling me though. A remote that twists inward and outward. I guess I am not the best visionary on innovations. I did laugh at the Wiimote when I first saw those concepts. I had a hard time understanding how you could play a game with a tv remote. It was a tried idea with the classic “CD-I”. But anyhow the point is that I was very, very, extremely dead WRONG on my assessment of the Wiimote and perhaps I am doing the same. I guess we could twist it like a motorcycle gas pedal for racing games or something..

No you don’t get the whole game from the unlock, but the Mirror’s Edge demo had its time trial unlocked earlier this week. The developers of the game were a little disappointed with the sales and hopes that by unlocking the time trial mode, will hook in some additional customers. Mirror’s Edge met with lukewarm reviews from critics who often cited its innovative concept as a strong plus but its limited replayability and faulty game mechanics as a strong minus. The time trial mode for Mirror’s Edge will have the player participating in a race by trying to beat certain timing records. The time trial mode for the Mirror’s Edge demo can be unlocked by simply choosing time trial in the menu and entering any 16 digit unlock code.

OK let’s be honest, with a few notable exceptions, hardcore gaming is still a pretty male dominated field of entertainment. This is why whenever there is a female avatar in any multiplayer game, all the guys bum rush the character in a way that they normally wouldn’t have the guts to do in real life. Check out this hilarious video of a prank these guys pulled on a hapless user. Normally there are a million of these pranks but this one was done in a pretty comical manner. Its probably some kid he tricked but hey pranking kids is one of the greatest joys in life!

So its finally here. After 2 years of talk and speculation, the public tried out the Playstation Home beta yesterday for the first time. So I tried it out as the reports started rolling out that people were downloading the new app. From 10 am till 6 pm Pacific time, I would get time out errors that the server was too busy. Frustrating but also understandable. So as I finally get in the PS home program at 6p I start character  design.

The details to facial shapes and body types were very in depth. I cant say the same for the clothing. But Im sure as the new xbox service is doing, they will roll out with a larger wardrobe. As you start off in your new condo overlooking the beach, in your surreal perfect home I started thinking “how cool is this”! I go to leave the Condo and get the message that I will need to download the downtown area. I go ahead and do so. It takes 2-3 minutes to go so not to bad. I get into town and for the first minute or so, everyone lookes like a ghost until they load. I start checking out the interactions available. Theres a selection of dances, anger motions, happy motions etc. I checked out the movie theater as that seemed to stick out the most. Again I needed to download, but it was only a minute or so; not to bad. I get in to see crappy quality videos of  Movie trailers on the screen. And even more annoying, was that most people were standing in front blocking your view. I believe there is a way to go into full screen mode but I was not in the mood to watch ads. Then it hit me. There had been sponsor ads riddled throughout the the home network. I am not one to point and yell sell out, but Im sure many others will feel this way. I guess overall the graphics were cool, the atmosphere is nice, the people were.. well people. Not really something that will improve the system or revolutionize the gaming industry in my eyes. Hey I can be wrong. Maybe Home does have more purpose then I found. I say to give it a try still.

Motorstorm Pacific Rift has been released for about a month now and in that time it has managed to sell over 1 million units. Considering that it is an exclusive on the PS3 which has a smaller customer base, and was released in in a time where all the most highly anticipated titles are released, this is quite an accomplishment. The original Motorstorm was one of the launch titles of the PS3 and is still one of its best games. Pacific Rift is the first sequel to the hit racing game. According to Metacritic, it has an average rating of about 81% which is one of the highest rated racing games. This is definitely the racing game to get before Gran Turismo 5 comes out…

The PS3 has been lagging behind its other console competitors ever since its launch. Even in its homeland of Japan, the PS3 lagged behind the Xbox 360 in sales. People have blamed various issues on this slump in sales but we can all agree it has something to do with the PS3′s price. The good news is it looks like the Japanese are finally starting to realize the value inherent in this system. Japan’s PS3 sales have jumped 100% in the course of a week recently and many attribute it to the release of Pro Evolution Soccer 2009 for the PS3.
