We’ve all been patiently waiting for God of War 3 for a long enough time and it won’t be much longer before we can finally take our revenge on Olympus! Being the last game I ever played on the PS2, this game held a special place in my heart as the game which closed out a long and enjoyable history with the PS2. God of War 3 promises to close out the series with a bang only capable on the superior graphics of the PS3. Here are some facts about the game;

God of War 3 is gonna be EPIC! Sorry, a little bit of fan-boy tendencies. God of War 3 is due out for release in March of 2010 and the wait will finally be over.

You can check out the teaser trailer to Uncharted 2 in all its fleeting awesomeness. Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune was one of the best games to come out on the Playstation 3 console as well as one of the reasons Xbox fanboys are jealous. The game featured a cinematic meld of puzzle and fighting in what became a genuinely addictive combo. The storyline in my personal opinion was much better than say the latest Indiana Jones flick. Uncharted 2 was inevitable and you might not believe it but the developers claim the above trailer was rendered using the actual game engine. That is some amazing snow….

According to the Techradar, a Spanish Sony executive has gone on the record to announce that the highly anticipated game Gran Turismo 5 will be available in Europe and North America during the Christmas season of 2009. Gran Turismo 5 is the premier driving simulator and one of the main reasons many fans purchased the Playstation 3 since it is a Playstation exclusive. Gran Turismo 5: Prologue was a purchaseable demo that was wildly popular. While personally I’m not happy with the long wait time before release, at least we now have a firm date to count on? If you’re so die hard you can’t wait, the Japanese Gran Turismo 5 release should be a few months earlier so you can always get a copy shipped.

Following a highly publicized NFL dispute over videogame licensing rights, the UFC has spawned its own controversy regarding its figthers’ objections to lending their own likeness to videogames. Dana White, the authoritarian CEO of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) has basically given the organization’s fighters a “my way or the highway” statement forcing fighters to allow videogame sponsorship or find a new organization. The agreement would sign away their likeness for life which means even the fighters’ own families would not be allowed to use their likeness in the event of death. When fighter Jon Fitch hesitated, he was thrown out of the UFC (24 hours later he was resigned). I guess we can expect to see Fitch in the upcoming game UFC 2009

It has been over three years since Fight Night: Round 3 and now EA Sports has announced that they are currently working on the sequel Fight Night: Round 4. The Fight Night series has always been known as the top dog of the boxing simulation games. While reporters and insiders were allowed this first look at Fight Night Round 4, the rest of us will have to wait until the Spike TV Video Game Awards to see our first glimpse of Fight Night Round 4. To the delight of many a fan, this will be the first Fight Night game to feature Mike Tyson! We can now have the legendary match-up, Mike Tyson in his prime or Ali?

I recently read an article by a blogger that listed the reasons why the PS3 is in a better position to take over the First Person Shooter market than the Xbox 360. Its flagship hit Resistance: Fall of Man has just seen the sequel Resistance 2 come out. There is no word on a Halo 4 from Microsoft and it may be a while especially since the story arch has ended with the trilogy. Gears of War is technically not a FPS but a third person shooter so that doesn’t count. Any my personally most anticipated title is this game which was first shown in E3 2005. Killzone was a not so great shooter on the PS2 but Killzone 2 looks like it will be the shooter to define this generation of consoles. Every Xbox owner I know admits they are at least a litte jealous of this title being a PS3 exclusive.

Personally I love a good survival horror game. I’ve been waiting for a game like Dead Space to come around and whip up the same kind of fear in me that movies like Event Horizon can. Dead Space is a new game by Electronic Arts which seeks to breathe new life (despite the name) into the series. So far, there’s already been a review on it and at 91% it is very promising.

The Dead Space game’s story follows that of engineer Isaac Clark, whose ship has responded to a distress beacon sent out by the Ishimura, a giant planet cracking ship which …cracks planets… to mine the resulting ore. The ship’s crew is transformed by a hideous race of aliens that feed on necrotic flesh. While the story is pretty “Event Horizon”, reviewers have praised the presentation which is terrifying and could teach industry veteran games like Resident Evil a thing or two.

The game will release with a special offer by EA. Anyone who logs into the game’s online stores within two weeks after launch will receive a special suit which can be used in game. The suit will be better than Dead Space’s default suit and will be generally more powerful.

The Dunia engine (“earth” in many different languages) is arguably the most powerful graphical engine on the market today. The first game to feature it is almost here. Far Cry 2 promises all the graphical embellishments from Crysis and a much more immersive experience. The development team spent 2 weeks on the Savannah of Africa. The result of their stay is an extremely realistic environment. Rain will fall, clouds will roll, shrubs and foliage will burn along with many other realistic effects. Of course, Far Cry 2 is coming to Next gen consoles this time around also so PS3 and Xbox 360 gamers can join in on the mayhem.
